Talking Heads tribute show planned at the Hive

Have you always wanted to transport back in time to see the Talking Heads perform live in their heyday? You’re in luck, friends. 

Portland-based band Life During Wartime, known as LDW to their fans, will be swinging through the Hive on Friday, April 26, to perform their acclaimed tribute show to the Talking Heads, and specifically, “Stop Making Sense,” one of the best concert films ever made.

The group formed in 2013 over a love of the Talking Heads’ music, putting together a seven-piece band inspired by the 1984 film, “Stop Making Sense.”

“There was so much funkiness, movement and excitement to the music in that movie and we just knew it would get people excited and feel fresh” said Lawrence Orleck, co-founder and singer in the band.

The band will play April 26 at 8:30 p.m., with doors opening at  7 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
