Boaters, beach-goers and lake recreators of all stripes rejoice — Lake Pend Oreille is officially at summer pool.
Lake levels reached summer pool — 2,062 feet — around noon Wednesday. Lake Pend Oreille is monitored and kept between 2,062 and 2,062.5 throughout the summer months.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which manages operations at Albeni Falls Dam, told the North Idaho public in April that they hoped to have the lake at summer pool by mid-June. Wednesday’s data, provided by the Northwest River Forecast Center, reflected that those hopes had become reality.
Lake Pend Oreille’s levels, which are measured at the Hope gauge, can be monitored at www.nwrfc.noaa.gov.
