Bendway weirs are similar to rock jetties, and installed this spring on the north side of Derr Island for bank stabilization as part of the Idaho Department of Fish and Game’s Clark Fork Delta Island Building Project.

The new structures extend from the shoreline about 100-200 feet into the river channel.

Corps officials report that the bendway weirs will likely be submerged and difficult to spot once the lake level reaches 2,053-2,054 feet above sea level. As of April 21, the lake crested 2,054 feet.
